Fireplace Mesh

An alternative to glass doors that keeps sparks off your carpet and still lets you feel the fire.

As an alternative to traditional glass fireplace doors you can have custom fireplace mesh installed. We offer traditional black and designer metallic mesh, and mesh leaves easy access for cleaning and maintenance.

We can custom fabricate a mesh to fit your fireplace. The high quality mesh curtain helps prevent sparks from damaging your carpet or hearth, and an optional matching fender helps keep logs from rolling out of the firebox.

Complete recessed mesh kits are designed for single-sided and two-sided fireplaces. Full 2″ × 3/16″ bars of solid brass, copper or steel are crafted into finishes protected by a full width galvanized backplate, giving a wide adjustability range for mounting and mesh height. Corners, I-beam construction, mesh pull accessories and various weaves and finishes are all available, and every component is also sold separately.

Measure A, B, C and D as shown, to the nearest 1/16″.

Measuring for mesh

Measure your fireplace opening with a steel tape, following the diagram above, and record each measurement to the nearest 1/16″.

  1. A. The top width of the inside of the fireplace opening.
  2. B. The height from the inside of the top of the firebox opening to the top of the hearth.
  3. C. (Fender only) The bottom width of the inside of the firebox opening.
  4. D. If your firebox floor is lower than the hearth, measure the drop separately, from a point 1 1/4″ back from the face of the fireplace.

We are happy to set up an appointment, recommend the screen that suits your fireplace and take the measurements ourselves. Call 708-358-0505 or email info@ChicagoChimney.com.
